Personal Best programme

Personal Best is an exciting pre-employment programme designed to harness the unique motivating force of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to engage workless and socially excluded people into the labour market and learning, lift their aspirations and create new life or career choices.

The Programme uses the potential prospect of becoming a Games Time Volunteer in 2012 as an inspiration to attract eligible people to undertake a Level 1 qualification, experience volunteering and ultimately to move into employment, further training and sustained volunteering.

Personal Best is primarily a pre-employment programme which, through engagement, training and volunteering, will act as a ‘stepping stone’ to new work opportunities for those that take part. Ultimately, the goal of the Programme is to give people a wide range of new and transferable skills and employment opportunities and raise self esteem and self confidence.

You can visit the Personal Best website here: www.personalbestprogramme.co.uk

The Level 1 Award in Preparation for Event Volunteering (Personal Best) will act as a stepping stone that will enable you to gain new skills which can lead to employment.

The qualification is aimed at all types of people from a variety of backgrounds.

The qualification consists of 9 mandatory units:

How is the qualification delivered and assessed?

Each unit has learning outcomes which are assessed in a particular way. These methods range from role play, presentations, assignments and short answer questions.
